Peter Faber
A companion of Ignatius of Loyola from their student days at Paris, named second among the ten priests of the Society of Jesus in the bull of 1540.
Ignatius of Loyola says that at Paris he was a friend of Peter Faber and Francis Xavier and led them to the service of God by giving them the Exercises (Ignatius, Autobiography p. 122). Faber was one of the two companions who lived with Ignatius outside Vicenza while the group waited for a ship to Jerusalem, and he walked with him to visit a sick companion at Bassano (Ignatius, Autobiography pp. 138–140). The bull of 1540 lists him, as Petrus Faber, immediately after Ignatius among the ten priests of the new Society (Paul III, Regimini militantis Ecclesiae § 1). See the Society of Jesus Is Founded.
