Los Angeles
City in southern California. In 1906 a mission in a former church building on Azusa Street was the scene of the revival from which the Pentecostal message was carried to other cities and countries.
Los Angeles lies on the Pacific coast of southern California. In 1906 prayer meetings in a house on Bonnie Brae Street moved to a building on Azusa Street, an old Methodist church partly converted into a tenement, and soon, the mission’s paper says, the building could not hold the people who came (The Apostolic Faith (Los Angeles) vol. 1 no. 1 (September 1906), p. 1). See the Azusa Street Revival.
