The Anglican Group for the Ordination of Women describes itself in the memorial as a body of loyal Anglicans, men and women, priests and lay people. Its memorial, issued with its chairman H. T. Malaher, vicar of Whitchurch in Buckinghamshire, asked the Lambeth Conference to open the diaconate, the priesthood and the episcopate to women on the same terms as men.

It is a partisan document, and is cited here only for what it shows about the time: that four years after the event the ordination of “Deaconess Li Tim Oi” by the Bishop of Hong Kong was public knowledge in England, and that the Chinese church had referred the matter to Lambeth.
