The editors’ preface says that these annals arose in the cathedral chapter at Kraków, that they survive in one manuscript still kept in its archive, and that of all the Kraków annals they stand, in the editors’ judgement, closest to the lost original. Their early entries are borrowed from German annals. The Polish entries begin with “965. Dubrovka came to Mieszko” and “966. Mieszko, duke of Poland, is baptized”.

Beside them the edition prints a later compilation, the Annales Cracovienses compilati, which says under 966 that Duke Mieszko married Dubrovka and was baptized, that he had been blind for seven years, and that the Poles were then baptized.

These are entries of a line each, written down long after the 960s from older notes that do not survive. They are the oldest dated record of the Baptism of Mieszko I of Poland that this wiki has found.
