The statement of the third Lausanne congress, held at Cape Town in October 2010. Its first part is a confession of faith and its second a call to action; its preamble reaffirms the Lausanne Covenant and the Manila Manifesto.
The foreword says that the congress met at Cape Town from 16 to 25 October 2010 and brought together 4,200 evangelical leaders from 198 countries. The preamble says that the movement remains committed to the Lausanne Covenant of 1974 and the Manila Manifesto of 1989, and observes that at least two thirds of the world’s Christians now live in the global south and east.
