Short lives of Paul Yun Ji-chung and 123 companions, published by the Korean Catholic bishops, who gathered the records of their trials and deaths for the cause of beatification.
The biographies were prepared by the church that promoted the martyrs’ cause, and they quote from the documents assembled for it: interrogation records, a provincial governor’s report to the court, and letters of the bishop of Beijing. They give dates in both the lunar and the solar calendar. They are written to honour the martyrs, and they are cited in Korean Scholars Found a Church for the facts they report of Paul Yun Ji-chung, Paul Yun Yu-il and the priest James Zhou Wen-mo.
