The notice, posted by a priest of the diocese on 21 February 2015, says that Pope Tawadros II announced “today” the inclusion of the 21 Coptic New Martyrs of Libya in the Synaxarium of the Coptic Orthodox Church, to be commemorated on 8 Amshir, which corresponds to 15 February and is the day of the feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. The biographical page gives the pope’s birth at Mansoura on 4 November 1952, his training as a pharmacist, his entry into the Monastery of Saint Pishoy and ordination as priest in 1989, his consecration as a general bishop on 15 June 1997, and his taking office as 118th Pope of Alexandria on 18 November 2012.
