James Hannington, First Bishop of Eastern Equatorial Africa: A History of His Life and Work, 1847–1885
E. C. Dawson1887
The life of Bishop James Hannington published two years after his death, drawing on his diaries and letters and quoting them at length.
Dawson wrote from James Hannington’s own papers, and much of the book is in the bishop’s words, among them his note of his date of birth. It is cited in this wiki for such statements and for the date and place of his consecration. The narrative that joins them is an admirer’s.
