Evangelii gaudium
The apostolic exhortation “The Joy of the Gospel”, on the proclamation of the gospel in today’s world, which Pope Francis issued eight months after his election and in which he set out the aims of his pontificate.
An apostolic exhortation is a papal teaching document, here written after a synod of bishops on evangelisation held in 2012, as paragraph 16 explains. Francis says in that paragraph that he also means to state his own concerns, and the Holy See’s biography of him calls the text his “apostolic programme”.
It has 288 numbered paragraphs. Paragraphs 27 to 33 deal with the reform of the church’s structures, including the papacy; paragraphs 53 and 54 with what it calls “an economy of exclusion”; paragraphs 186 to 216 with the inclusion of the poor in society. It is cited in this wiki as the pope’s own statement of what he intended.
