Homily at the Mass for the Martyrs of Uganda

The homily Pope Francis preached at the Catholic shrine at Namugongo in 2015. He recalls the Catholic martyrs and says that the Anglican martyrs also died for Christ.
The Mass was celebrated in the grounds of the Catholic shrine of the martyrs. The pope names Joseph Mukasa and Charles Lwanga and says that the deaths of the Anglican martyrs “testify to the ecumenism of blood”. It is cited as a statement by a pope that the Catholic Church honours the Anglicans who died beside its own.
