Minutes of the Session of the Holy Synod on the Holy and Great Council, 10 June 2016
The minutes of the Georgian synod’s session under Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, which list eleven difficulties with the council on Crete and record the unanimous decision that the Georgian delegation would not take part.
The minutes report a presentation by Metropolitan Andria of Gori and Ateni, the church’s representative in the council’s secretariat, a discussion among the bishops and a vote. The difficulties listed include the broken communion between Antioch and Jerusalem, the refusals of Antioch and Bulgaria, the council’s document on marriage, which the Georgian delegation had not signed, and the document on relations with other Christians, which the synod had judged on 25 May to contain serious errors.
