Biography of Pope Francis

The Holy See keeps a biography on the page of each pope. This one was rewritten after the death of Francis and now covers the whole of his life: his entry into the Society of Jesus in 1958, his ordination in 1969, his years as archbishop of Buenos Aires from 1998, his election on 13 March 2013 and his death on Easter Monday, 21 April 2025.
