House of Lords

The official daily record of proceedings in the English, later British, House of Lords. It records the readings of bills and the giving of the royal assent, and so fixes the day on which an Act became law.

The Journal is the House’s own minute of each sitting, kept by its clerks. It notes who was present, what bills were read and what was resolved. It is cited in this wiki for dates of legislation, such as the royal assent to the Act treated in the Toleration Act and Locke’s Letter.
