German excavators found an archive of ration lists at Babylon in the early twentieth century. The tablet linked here names, among recipients from many lands, the king of Judah with his entourage. It confirms from Babylon’s own records that Jehoiachin lived there as a royal captive after the First Deportation to Babylon, as the end of 2 Kings says.
