Le Kimbanguisme a quatre-vingt-trois ans
A Kimbanguist writer’s account of the origins of the church, published on a Kimbanguist website for the eighty-third anniversary of Kimbangu’s ministry. It is cited as a Kimbanguist telling of the events of 1921, not as an official statement of the church.
The article was written for members of the Church of Jesus Christ on Earth by his Special Envoy Simon Kimbangu. It dates the birth of Kimbanguism to 6 April 1921 at Nkamba, describes what Kimbangu preached, quotes his answers to the military judge, and tells of his sentence, his thirty years in prison and the deportation of his followers.
It was written eighty-three years after the events by a member of the church and expresses a Kimbanguist understanding of them. Some of its dates differ from those in other accounts. It is cited in Simon Kimbangu and the Kimbanguist Church for what Kimbanguists say of their church’s beginnings.
