The bulletin records that Leo XIV and Bartholomew I signed the declaration in the Patriarchal Palace on 29 November 2025, at a meeting that began at 15.50, and prints it. It is dated “From the Phanar” and opens by noting that it was the eve of the feast of the apostle Andrew, patron of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

It has eight paragraphs. The second and third concern Nicaea and the date of Easter; the fourth recalls the declaration of 1965 by which the excommunications of 1054 were set aside (Joint Catholic–Orthodox Declaration of 7 December 1965); the fifth supports the official theological dialogue; the last three concern peace. It is a joint text of the two sees and commits no other Orthodox church. See the Churches Mark 1,700 Years since Nicaea.
