The Act tells Innocent’s life from his birth in a Siberian village in 1797 to his death as metropolitan of Moscow in 1879, and quotes from his letters. It is a document of the church that honours him, written a century after his death, and it speaks of him and of the peoples he worked among in the language of praise. It is cited in Orthodox Monks Reach Alaska and in Innocent of Alaska for dates and offices and as the Orthodox Church’s own statement about him.
