Presbyterians and Latter-day Saints
A leaflet of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s ecumenical office on relations with Latter-day Saints. It says that it rests on General Assembly actions of 1987 and 1995. It is the office’s text, not the wording of the Assembly.

The leaflet says that Mormonism “is a new religious tradition distinct from the historic apostolic tradition of the Church, of which Presbyterians are a part”, and that Latter-day Saints and Presbyterians use the same words with dissimilar meanings. Under the heading “Support the search for witness” it advises Presbyterians to accept persons of Mormon background into membership on profession of faith and to administer baptism. A note at the end names the General Assembly actions on which the content is based: “Nature of Revelation 1987; Mormons 1995”.
The wiki cites it as a statement published by an office of that church. It has not seen the Assembly’s own papers of 1987 and 1995. See Joseph Smith and the Latter-day Saints.
