The encyclical Pius XI issued on the fortieth anniversary of Rerum novarum. It reviews what Leo XIII’s letter had achieved, defends and develops its teaching, and passes judgment on the economic order and on socialism in 1931.
Pius XI wrote to commemorate Rerum novarum and to carry its teaching further. Sections 16 to 39 recount the benefits he attributes to Leo’s letter, and section 39 calls it the “Magna Charta” on which Christian activity in the social field ought to be based.
It is cited in this wiki as evidence of how the Catholic Church itself received Leo’s encyclical a generation later.
