The statement opens by saying that Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold these beliefs to be the teaching of Scripture, and that the statements may be revised at a session of the General Conference. Belief 18 says that the gift of prophecy was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White and that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching must be tested. Belief 20 concerns the seventh-day Sabbath. Belief 24 says that in 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, Christ entered the second and last phase of his ministry in the heavenly sanctuary.
