The page describes the manuscript and then tells its removal from the monastery’s side. Constantin von Tischendorf, it says, “managed to take” forty-three folios in 1844, and in 1859 asked to take the rest to Russia, promising to return it at the monastery’s first request; instead it was kept by the Russian government and sold to England in 1933. The page calls his claim that the codex was about to be burned a slander against which the monastery has always protested.

It is a present-day statement by one party, undated, and it is cited as the monastery’s own position.
