Early Writings of Mrs. White
Ellen White’s own account of her early life and of the visions she says she received from December 1844 onwards. Its first part was published in 1851 and reprinted with other writings in 1882. A primary source for what she reported and taught.
The first part of the volume, “Experience and Views”, was first published in 1851, as the preface to the second edition says; the copyright notice of the collected volume is dated 1882. It begins with a short sketch of her conversion and of the Adventist meetings she attended at Portland, Maine, and then relates her visions one by one. A publisher’s note on its first page gives her birth as 26 November 1827 at Gorham, Maine, and a note to her first vision says that it was first published in 1846.
The book records what Ellen White said she saw. The wiki reports the visions as her account, as it does with any vision. See the Millerites and the Great Disappointment.
