Brighton
Seaside town on the south coast of England. Hudson Taylor says that on its beach, on 25 June 1865, he resolved to lead a new mission to inland China.
Brighton lies on the English Channel, south of London. James Hudson Taylor writes that he went there to stay with a friend when his health had broken down, and that on Sunday 25 June 1865 he left a crowded service, walked out alone on the sands, and there prayed for twenty-four workers for the provinces of China that had no missionary (Taylor, A Retrospect ch. 18). See Hudson Taylor and the China Inland Mission.
