How Pentecost Came to Los Angeles
Frank Bartleman1925
The memoir of a man who attended the Los Angeles prayer meetings of 1906 and the Azusa Street mission. Its dedication is dated April 1925, nineteen years after the events it describes.
Frank Bartleman was in Los Angeles before the revival began, met William Seymour at a cottage prayer meeting shortly before 26 March 1906, and went to the meetings at Azusa Street. The book is arranged by date, like a diary, and its dedication is signed at Los Angeles in April 1925.
He writes as a participant, and the book is his own view of events and of the people in them, set down nineteen years afterwards. It is cited in the Azusa Street Revival for what he says he saw.
